RIC Turns 75 at the House of Blues - 8/29/2006
The stars come out for RIC to celebrate 75 years of the Electric Guitar |

With enough star power to rival the Emmy awards show taking place just down the street, Rickenbacker's 75th Anniversary Concert was certainly a night to remember for everyone involved.
Headlining the show was Jefferson Starship, who capped off a night jam packed with other perfomances by Chris Squire and Friends, The Smithereens, Minus 5 (with Peter Buck and Mike Mills of R.E.M.), Susanna Hoffs & Matthew Sweet, Billy Hinsche, Marty Willson-Piper & the Electric Mood Maidens, and Hautewerk.
The show, which entertained an enthusiastic audience for over six hours, also served a more noble cause in benefiting the Museum of Making Music. The museum, located in Carlsbad, CA, recently opened an exhibit commemorating 75 years of the electric guitar entitled "Brother Musician, Listen to a Miracle."
Rickenbacker International Corporation would like to thank all of the artists involved, and everyone who attended the show. |
