I just got back today from my first ever trip to the Hall of Fame.( sounds like a line from a Thin Lizzy song doesnt it). Saw some wonderful guitars! Ofcourse I spotted the Ricks right away. I noticed that most of the Punk and Funk bands used a Rick bass. They had Lennons black 325 under glass, wow what a sight. I am assuming that it was an actual one of his. It still has fingerprints on it! An interesting one was a black Rick 425 bought in 1963 by George when he was visiting his sister in the states. An interesting quote by George on a plaque next to the guitar about his visit says "They have everything over there! Why would they want us" Little did he know....................
They also had alot of Ricks from Tom Petty. One was a beautiful doubleneck. Oh well, I saw too many to mention but a good time was had by all!!

You should have stopped by to visit me and Incubus..., we could have shown you some very nice Ricks!

I've been to the RRHOF three times--once, on a special pre-tour thanks to being a founding member (1995) and at that time they did have John's 1964 Rick 325 next to his Sgt. Pepper outfit.

I was next there in 2001 and again in 2002--at that time they had the Lennon exhibition on the top floor--and the 1964 Rick 325/12 was on display behind glass. No sign of the 6-string 325--believe me, I looked.

I wonder if it may have been loaned out (to the Lennon Museum in Tokyo?). If so, is it back now? Or is it still the 325/12?

Jeff. I am hoping to make a run through Louisville, Canton and Cleveland next summer. I have a friend who lives in Louisvilee so I'll be heading to the Louisville Slugger Museum, Pro Football Hall of Fame and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Plans are still tentative, but I've been wanting to do this for a few years.

George Harrison's '62 Rickenbacker 425 has been modified (after George owned it) with a second pickup, added controls, new faceplate and Grover Sta-tite tuners.

A 1934 Rickenbacher "Frying Pan" Model A-25 Lap Steel Electric Guitar has been acquired by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The instrument is on a long-term loan for future display that will be determined by the Rock Hall in Cleveland, Ohio.
