Since most (or nearly all) Rick bass players take off the rear PU cover, I did as it got in the way (Sorry Mr Hall) I think maybe it would be a good idea to include a treble bezel in the case when bought brand new, your thoughts?

What they oughtta do is from now on mount the bridge pickups like they do on their 4004 basses and relegate the current ~60 year old design of the 4000/1/3 bridge pup mount and surround to reissue models only.
I don't see a reason for that huge surround and complicated adjustment mechanism when things can be done alot easier nowadays, like the 4004 way of pickup mounting/adjusting. Pickup to face of bass with two screws, done.
Seems like Ric likes to keep things traditional, which I can respect, but at least give us a 4004 production option.
