I'm late to this discussion, but also had a 2006 330/6 in Blueburst that had a similar problem. When I bought it from a collector who purchased it new and never played it, it had the imprint of the case fuzzy lining on the guitar top, so instead of being glossy it was sort of a "fuzzy" matte finish... gave me the impression (pardon the pun) that perhaps something in the lining had some chlorine or something in it. Customer service suggested I try using a specific automotive polish (brand escapes me at the moment) to bring it back, but the imprint was too deep to make completely glossy. I ended up re-selling it back to the original owner and no longer have it (regretfully, I did love that guitar!), but the situation always puzzled me. A Midnight Blue 360/6 is now my main stage guitar... guess I should change my username one of these days!

I have a 75th Anniversary 660 in the limited edition color of Dark Cherry Metallic. I bought it new from a local guitar store. A few years back I noticed an issue with the finish on the back of the neck. It appeared that the top layer of the finish was wearing off. It also had the sticky/gummy paint that others in this forum have experienced. I did have it hanging on my wall for a while, then kept it in its case. I was interested if others have experienced a similar problem and if any solution was found.
