Can anyone tell me anything about this "Special Run"? I can't find anything on the topic and the only thing I see different from other 4003S/5, at first glance, is the maple neck wood.
I'd love to hear about the "Special Run" and know if it was for an event? Limited production? Clever marketing ploy?
Any light anyone can shed would be greatly appreciated!

RIC seems to be doing a lot of special run models this year, and this is apparently one of them. Usually they're in batches of 20 to 30, sometimes less. I think dealers can request these limited production "boutique" models. This mentioned bass is at Chicago Music Exchange.

You would think someone at Chicago Music Exchange would be able to add some background to the special run, but the person I spoke with didn't know much.
At any rate, the mentioned bass will be in my living room in a couple days!
