Has anybody listened to it yet? I caught the first day 9:09 EDT last Thursday. A minute of introductory announcements, then at 9:10 (Yes, the "One After 909") a straight launch into "All You Need Is Love." The channel is now a pre-set in my automobile radio.
Why AYNIL? Remember - that was the first song transmitted live broadcast world-wide on the first communications satellite, Telstar, on June 25, 1967.
OK. So Sirius jumped the 50 year anniversary date by a month or so...what....
Oh - and why channel 18? Not only does it seem it was the only channel available, but 1+8= you guessed it: Number 9, Number 9, Number 9....
This morning there was a mini-show on George's 12-string songs.

Now that Sirius XM has had the Beatles Channel going for several months, I was wondering what people's reactions are ?? The Beatles Channel has an ongoing series of famous people (fellow musicians, actors, "A" Listers of all kinds) being guest DJs and playing their personal favorite Beatle tunes or telling stories related to those songs, or how such and such song impacted their life, or influenced their own song-writing, etc.
I find myself tuning into it several times a week, for a little while, and often on weekends when running errands in the car, etc.

I listen to it in my car all the time....I've had it tuned to channel 18 (1+8=9!) ever since it debuted back in May. For the most part I really enjoy it a lot.....my only question to Sirius XM is, what took you all so long?! There are some artists they play doing Beatles songs that I can do without, however.

I suspect what might have taken Sirius XM so long, to have a Beatle channel, is the slow pace of Apple Corps Ltd. to adapt to change and license their product out.
Remember that no Beatles music was available for many years when pay-download sites first emerged. The Beatles didn't want to go that route for the longest time. Until finally after they had exhausted re-issues and ReMastered versions on CDs and released Mono versions and Capitol Albums on CDs, and every conceivable way they could market the product in that medium -- then at that point they moved on to licensing download songs. Must assume their legal advisors and head Accountant negotiated the thing for a long, long time to go Satellite Radio for the same reason.

One of my favorite channels. Very informative not to mention all the good music.
