Generally speaking, the requests for a wider neck have been with regard to 12-string guitars. Still, there is the 660 for those that feel they need this. I'm guessing there are different camps: those that love the vintage nut width; those who make do with it, but don'tt really like it; and those that would love a 1 11/16th to 1 3/4 nut width on those models (330/360) but have kept their internal, volcanic frustrations about the specification under control, and have ultimately gone to or back to other brands in the hollow body realm. In short: people would love a wider neck on any/all models that don't already have them, limited edition or not. The only thing stopping me from having a 330 or 360 is the nut width. I've only been waiting thirty years!

For those interested, Daves Guitar shop in Wisconsin just got a 1993Plus in FireGlo in stock!

I just wanted to drop in here and say I acquired a 1993Plus in FG and really love the way it plays, sounds and looks. It's a very different feel from the '60s 12-string Rick necks I'm used to, but it's great in its own way. Congrats Ben and Co. for a real hit that I believe will be a very popular part of the RIC lineup for years to come.

I think that if Rickenbacker made the wider neck available on the 330/12 and the 360/12, they would sell a lot more 12 string guitars, and without doubt, more with the wide neck than the old standard narrow neck. How many of you out there would get one, I betting most of us that have an old 330/12 or/and especially the 360/12, that like that style/look, would be getting their check books out ready to pull the trigger!

I'd bet that a pretty high percentage of people who'd really, really, been wanting a 330/360-type guitar with a wider neck already bought a 1993PLUS. I did. Also, be careful about underestimating the appeal of "tradition" - especially when it comes to Rickenbackers. I don't think I'd bet on the new anything outselling the old anything when it comes to Ricks. Too many nuts around here. (I say that affectionately and without judgement.).

I also bought a new 1993Plus in MapleGlo, awesome and beautiful guitar, and would also buy a 360/12 (rounded top, single bound back) style in FireGlo if it were made available. As far as new wide neck vs. old style narrow neck, I'd bet that if you (we all) had the two in front of us, and played them both, 90% of us would choose the wider neck over the narrow one, even if you are old school, and have played the narrow neck all your life. This is 2016, not 1966, give the masses their choice, it's good business!!
