Just watched a DVD of the Grand Ole Opry. There was a segment of Jim Reeves doing a medley of his hits. He played a great looking acoustic Ric. The DVD was in black & white, so I couldn't tell, but it looked mapleglo. I'll see if I can upload to share with all.

That was custom-built for Reeves--it's light blue, not unlike Fender's Sonic Blue. In the early '60's, Rickenbacker built a set of blue instruments for Reeves and his band, the Blue Boys, named for his hit "Blue Boy". The lead guitarist got a blue 360F, the bass player got a blue 4000 bass, and Jim got the acoustic, which, according to Richard Smith's Rickenbacker book, was listed on the factory invoice as a "Blue Boy Martin"! There's a good pic of the band with their blue guitars in the book--looks like all the guitars had gold-backed Lucite pickguards too.
The one in the Rickenbacker gallery photo might be the same guitar--color photos from that time can age in strange ways...but it's also possible that they built Reeves a white acoustic with blue pickguard and nameplate, but the ones in the pic in the book are definitely blue.
