I loved my CW/12 until it developed the dreaded body curl. It's still playable, but I imagine in a few years it's going to be a wall-hanger.

it doesn't matter how many guitars one has, you can only play one at a time.

Body curl is when the body curls upward. The end result is almost like a archer's bow. Neck is straight, action is low, and there's a huge gap between the neck pickup and the strings. Place it on a flat surface and you can actually rock the body like a cradle. To fix it would cost $$$$.

Never heard of this affliction. I've got a 370/12CW and judging from it's construction with the neck going thru the body in a thick block of wood I don't understand how this can happen.

Is the guitar under any type of warranty, or have you taken it to someone who specializes in Rickenbacker repair?

The people I've showed it too said that the wood was probably too new/not seasoned properly/etc.

I'm the original owner, but the five year Ric warranty benchmark has long since passed.

Just got my first Ric. It is a 360 CW 6 string. I really like it. I have a long road ahead experimenting with it!

Just keep stacking grommets under the neck pickup. Moreover, it doesn't have to be as close to the strings as the bridge pickup to get an even response pickup-to-pickup.

I'm thinking about the 360c63/12 in the future.[/quote]

Check out the new 1993Plus also. Similar to the 360c63/12, but has an "F" sound-hole (Rose Morris style) and a wider neck profile which makes it much more playable if you need a little more room like us fat fingered guys!! ;)
