OK, so who's got the fake cert? Joe Walsh or bro Forumite Darryl?
Or did he score Joe's CW?
The mystery continues......

I thought Joe Walsh owned #49 (funk), not 409.

Hi again fellow forumites! In an attempt to solve the mystery, I visited the dealer from whom I purchased the guitar two years ago in London. They specialize in vintage guitars and have an extremely sound and honest reputation. The guy I discussed the matter with was unable to fully trace the purchase history but recalled that Joe was touring the UK with the Eagles around the same time and thinks it may have been one of his crew that brought the guitar in. But he couldn't be sure. So as far as I can tell you, I believe I have the real 409. But even if it is not, it is a superb guitar and is second only to my 1968 maple glo 360-12 as the best Ricky I have ever played!

Darryl,
Just curious, but does the flame pattern on the guitar pic which is said to belong to Joe Walsh match your #409? Does it look like the same actual guitar?

Quote: Wow! What a beautiful flame pattern! I wish Rick would do that for all of their guitars! The Capris from the late 1950s seem to have nice flame on them.

The flame maple matches and it does look exactly like the guitar in the pics. The serial number is 0012845 which also corresponds to the certificate details. So I'm pretty sure that I have the real 409. The only other Rickys I have seen with similar flame finishes are on some of the more recent V381's.
