I recently bought a TR14 amplifier that had been a bit monkeyed with by a previous owner. It works, and sounds great (amazingly clean and loud for its diminutive size), and I'm in the midst of trying to put it back to its proper configuration. The serial number starts with XQ; I understand the X indicates it was built in 1984, does the Q indicate anything, a month perhaps?

Anyway, two things I'm most desperate for:

1) Does anyone have, or know where to find, a schematic for this amp? I have scoured the internet and exhausted all my sources, and those that were suggested to me (including Ric Customer Service, who were very polite but couldn't offer me anything) and have come up empty-handed. Maybe Mr. Hall can suggest a source?

2) This amp had a presumably non-original reverb tank mounted outside the amp's chassis, vertically on the inside side panel. I have managed to relocate it back inside the chassis, but would like to replace it with the proper tank. Can anyone tell me the proper tank? (I have asked Accutronics, and they have no record of supplying tanks for the TR14, though they have a spec for the TR25.)

Not desperate for because it has no bearing on operation, but would be nice to have, is the plastic Rickenbacker logo missing from the grill. I suspect it's probably the same logo that adorned some instrument cases from that era also.

I've looked through old records and don't seem to have a copy of the TR14 schematic anymore. However, if the chassis is out of the cabinet, you might email me the PCB numbers etched in the foil as I do have some separate schematics for individual boards (since this series was entirely modular).

The TR14 would have used the same reverb as the TR25. My recollection is that there's a lot of commonality between these models; for instance, i think the power amp is the same board but with just one pair of output transistors stuffed.

Thank you, John, I very much appreciate your taking the time to look. The chassis comes out pretty easily with only four screws, so when I get home from work tonight I'll pop it out and mark down the PCB numbers.

The reverb tank installed by a previous owner is an OC Electronics without a type marked (maybe a sticker fell off), but the mounting holes don't line up. Accutronics told me they supplied an 8FB3C1B for the TR25, but someone on Facebook opened their TR25 and found an OC Folded Line Type 56 inside. Presumably they're functionally equivalent (I have not been able to find specs on OC tanks online). I can't find that Accutronics, since they moved to the funky orient, makes this tank any more, but MOD makes an 8FB3C1B equivalent, and if the mounting measurements I found are correct, it should line up with the existing holes. Revisit has the equivalent tank, but I can't find mounting measurements, and it looks like it might just be a rebadged MOD anyway. Not that I want a tank made in China, but unfortunately it seems to be the only option.



So I can increase the output by swapping transistors? Seriously, I'd never do that; it's plenty loud enough.

And power transformer, rectifier, capacitors, driver transistors and various other components. But I think the PCB for the R15, TR14, and TR25 may be the same.
