It was just a thought. I was wondering if anyone eles had the same feeling as me. It would seem that if I had to pick just one it would be determined by which one I was holding at the time.
My questions pertaining to the smell have been answered.

I'm not entirely sure that the marketing line " as sniffed and enjoyed by Jefferson Starship " will take off, but it did conjure up some wonderful images.

My most recent Brand new Rick definity has a different aroma than the new one I got 6 years ago, and i can tell it is from the finish on the guitar itself, not unpleasant at all, like new car smell. I wish I could bottle it

I can't believe you don't love that smell. I open the case just to sniff.

I like the new Guitar smell as well.
I found it especially strong when my 650 D was delivered some years ago.No if Paul W. could only bottle the the smell add market it as a man's cologne or as a woman's perfume I would buy enough to last a lifetime!

I bought my 3rd Rick in October 2008 and I put the Manual and the case candy in a box file. I went to the box file last week and - guess what? That same new smell!

..and I thought my 350/12V63 (bought a few months ago, orig. 2005) was perfumed by its pre-owner in order to cover something else's odor. Now I received a brand new 4003 bass and its the same, ha. But I must admit I liked the smell from the very first second :-) and would be sad at the day when it's gone. Any chance to refresh then ? Buying the glue or so ?
