I bought a second hand Rickenbacker 1996 model from a little red brick house in Weybridge, Surrey, England in about 1966, (paid about £70 say $110) and I sold it again in Spain in 1967 when I was short of money for 10000 pesetas say $94. (Working as a water ski instructor/beach bum by day and DJ/lothario by night).
My guitar had a cigarette burn under top E about the 5th fret (but not sure) and I never had a photo of it. It did not have a vibrato arm.
Of course I'd love to buy it back......
Come to think of it I'd be interested in any or a re-issue. Don't know why, always was a crap guitarist more into showing off than playing. Still have a Harmony H77, and a Gibson J49 which I like to fondle occasionally, (actually playing would be going too far).
Umm, think I posted in the wrong place, never did read the manual first, sorry.
