Putting it up on iTunes will even out the playing field for the current generation, who never saw vinyl or lined up to buy a plastic LP for $5 in the 60's, kinda like the equivalent of the midnight release of the latest, greatest video game.

Unlike many others, the Beatles CD's were never on sale in the stores. Hard to convince a 14-year-old that Abbey Road is worth $20 when most of his friends are swapping pirated copies of the latest stuff.

Beatles Back catologue is now on iTunes!

The Beatles and their Rickenbackers on 45's, EP's, LP's, Reel-to-Reel tapes, 8-Track Tape Cartridges, Cassettes, CD's, and now, iTunes...the audio evolution continues!

Huh? I have a whole bunch of Beatles' CDs I bought in a store!

I'm glad that the Beatles and Apple Records (or rather, their lawyers) have smoothed things out with Steve Jobs and Apple Computers. When I realized that all four former Beatles had their respective catalogs available on iTunes, I felt that some sort of compromise was on its way.

What's weird, though, is that a bunch of albums are missing from the iTunes catalog, including "Live at the BBC" and the "Anthology" series, not to mention the mono box, along with the American LPs. Maybe more releases are on the way.

The original issue of Beatles albums on CD were sold in regular retail stores, in the same manner as the original vinyl. As a matter of fact, I waited to get a CD player until the Beatles albums were issued on CD, only then was I convinced that the CD format was here to stay. Just like the original vinyl, I even have a numbered copy of the White album. By the time the original White album was issued, they made a joke about how long it would take to sell a millon copies, so the first million were actually numbered with a Bates-style stamper.

yes, where will it all end?
I guess in 20 years time they will be implanting the entire stereo collection and all you'll have to do is say "Please Please Me" and away it will go playing in your head.

The song "Penny Lane" by The Beatles is a recording that has been selected as a 2011 inductee into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.

quite accurate, if you can get a remastered stereo pack it's going to make very easy for you to trascribe the parts. cheers!
