Man, oh, man! What a mess!
That WAS a fairly nice bass with a bit of birdseye. Parts might be worth what you paid for it, but no way worth $1k.
Anyway, it's a 4001, likely around 1974 or so. It's gonna cost a LOT to restore it to like new. There are a couple of guys who could do it, but probably for more than it would be worth...
