yep that '68 is beautiful ... I bought it for $150 in 1973 and played it for 30 years and made a nice profit selling it ...

Sorry JH for the bogus info. It's just an old article from a Ric newsgroup I saved a few years ago.
No problem- you had no way to know.

If you'd like more information about instruments like this from someone that really did work on them, you need only ask Dale Fortune who hangs out in these parts from time to time.

I've got 4001CS #278(I think that's the right #, need to dig up my certificate), that I bought new in '92(?) for $999.00. It's a lefty. I wonder how many lefty CSs were made.

Did you know CS's web site he owns a westone/electra bass. If it is the bass i'm thinking about, I use to have one. Its hard for me to believe CS owns one. I wonder what he uses it for.

My 4001CS LH was either 292 or 393, I can't remember...ordered new and delivered March 1992. I owned it about 9 or 10 years....

The Mouradian CS-74. Jim's a friend of mine here in New England. I've had him work on my Ric's a few times, GREAT luthier.

On the Tsongas DVD that Green Mouradian really does sound terrific, cuts right through. In fact, on that DVD he uses 2 different Mouradian's, the Reality Bass and the original CS-74. The Reality is a bolt on and the CS-74's neck through.

I owned one of Jim's CS-74's about 15 years ago, white with a slight sparkle finish. I'm still kicking myself for selling it (in a moment of weakness)

He also has a 4004/5 Cii that's Tranny Green but it's been on fairly long loan to me in my studio. What I really need to do is make another one now!
