Until we can get together some official rules for the forums, I’ve decided to post some semi-official ones; guidelines, if you will - without any of the legalese that will accompany the official version.

While using our forums, please refrain from making denigrating comments about other forums users, other companies, authorized RIC dealers, and RIC. Please do not sell or trade your guitar via our forums, and do not post links to products for sale that infringe on our trademarks or intellectual property (for example, a copy of a RIC guitar) – even if it’s just to say “look how awful this is.” If you want to help us shut down auctions for fake RICs, an email to legal@rickenbacker.com will do the trick.

Please do not post any prices for new RIC guitars, other than U.S. suggested retail price (this goes for both dealers and retail customers). The selling and appraisal of items is prohibited; there are plenty of other sites for this purpose.

We also ask that you refrain from the discussion of religion and politics.

This is a corporate owned forum; as such, certain controversial or provocative topics that might be acceptable elsewhere are simply not appropriate here.

Lastly, please do not attempt to use the forums as a substitute for customer service. If you have a problem with your guitar, you are free to ask the other forums members for advice, and RIC staff may chime in from time to time, but our participation here is on a “time permitting” basis.

The quickest, easiest, and most appropriate way to have a question answered by our staff is to call our service department at 714-545-5574, or to email service@rickenbacker.com (all inquiries regarding warranty repair in North America should be directed here as well).

Customers outside of North America should direct all requests for warranty repair to the appropriate international distributor (Click here to find your distributor info.)

Any posts that contain any of the above mentioned activities will be removed from viewing. Users who repeatedly show disregard for these guidelines will be banned.
