Does the new updated bass bridge have the capability to go lower than the old style? My C64 bridge is at its lowest and has had saddles filed down... will the new bridge help me out in any way? |

The new V.2 bridge/tailpiece does go lower than the previous version, eliminating tail lift. But the screw spacing is different and new holes have to be drilled. But it's definitely an improved version. Cheers! |

I have the problem with my new 4003S from 2020 (with the new V2.0 bridge) that the E-string comes not low enough. All other strings go very low without any problems. I have my neck as straight as possible, but the result is not satisfactory. I don't have any advice at the moment. Has anyone had a similar experience with the new bridge and possibly the same problem? And does anybody know how to solve the problem ? |

I have a 1982 Mapleglo with a slight amount of tail uplift. I've ordered the V2 bridge to provide better adjustability for intonation and individual string height/lateral placement. I have some reluctance in doing so for two reasons. The most important one is that I really don't like modifying my 1982's body by drilling new holes into it- even if they are essentially covered up by the old tailpiece should I reinstall it. The other is that I've read from some people that the E string doesn't go as low as it did in the original bridge- though others have stated that the newer one goes lower than the older model for all strings. So, it's a bit confusing. At any rate, I've ordered a V2 and will take some measurements when I have it on hand and compare those to the original. I'll share my findings, hopefully it'll be helpful for someone as I was unable to find any kind of actual dimensionally accurate data on before and after string heights. |
