Well, I can't really begin to say how awesome this bass is, but I can start by saying that about four months ago I was playing my Warwick Streamer 5 when I realized that I really wanted to have the double bass sound come out of an electric bass. I wasn't really sure how to go about this at the time, I was thinking about different sort of effects that I could put together. That is until I saw this bass, and now that I've played it, holy beep, it is seriously uncanny for its upright sound. I could not have asked for a better bass, and for that matter I couldn't have asked for a better sound to come out of a bass.

The neck is very fast, and the action is extremely nice and low. I threw some rotosound flatwounds on it, and I think they also really helped to bring out that acoustic sound. It's crazy how the friggin bass reflects anything you put it in front of, it is seriously a gorgeous musical instrument, and a great joy to play. I am very proud to be part of the rickenbacker club =).

And here are some pics, they are not really the best pics ever, I kind of suck with a camera haha. Oh and don't worry, that is my cousin's marshall plexi head and cab, my rig is off to the right out of picture.

Looks great! How it sounds with the Marshall stuff?

I'd be glad to hear your baby's sound! Could you record some sample for our delight?

Congratulations and welcome to the RIC proud owners club (which I am a new member too, with just two months, but years waiting to be in!)

Who's worried? Marshalls sound great for certain bass tones. Just ask Chris Squire!

That is true. It would be pretty nice to get a Marshall bass rig, however, the Marshall stuff in the background is a 1987 plexi head and the 4x12 cab to match, it's my cousin's set up, what sucks is that you can't see his guitar which is pretty sweet, a modified fender american that he made to look pretty much exactly like david gilmore's american.

I play out of an early 90's SWR Workingman 160 and a 70's EAW cabinet. I really need to get a new amp, the workingman is just not enough power, but the cabinet is shweet, I picked it up for 40 bucks when I was like 15 or 16, and it sounds pretty damn nice, a nice 15' subwoofer, with 3 built-in tweeters and a horn. I think it was released from a nightclub or something back in the day. The reason I haven't bought a new amp is because I also play at schoool and lugging around that cab is not possible. So I also use my ampeg BA112 to practice.

Well, I'd be glad to record some sound samples, I just have to figure out how I'd go about doing that. Maybe a video or something with sound.

There are many ways and software to do that, but, if you don't want to mess with such things, you can always use the good old Windows recorder!
