How do I know if I have a blackstar or not? When I bought it,it was all black but didn't have a jack plate. It looks like one but from the ones I've seen, they all have dots on the fretboard and mine doesn't. Anybody know when they made the blackstar?

The Blackstar's had black fretboards & dots ( White dots ). Your's is probably a Black 4003 with the Black trim option.

Actual 4003SPC Blackstars are fairly rare - 200 were made between late 1987 and early 1990. They are "S" models with no binding and no Rick-O-Sound output. I'm in the Milwaukee area and would be willing to check what you have to help you figure out what it is. You can email me direct: airflower2 AT icloud DOT com (replace the usual).
