Question for the anoraks!

Macca's Rickenbacker bass came with the vintage bridge pickup as can be seen in the Beatle era pics.

I am watching Rockshow on DVD, Wings 70's era (playing along with my 4001v63 LH Jetglo through Apogee Jam and Logic Pro X), the bridge pickup in the DVD is for sure a newer one or at least the metal surround is the newer one. Is it really a hi gain in there? When did this change?

For many years there was, indeed, a hi-gain pickup in the bridge position. Some other anorak will have to provided dates for you.

There are other threads that explain everything, including the refurb at the factory when the Wings Over America tour hit L.A. in 1976.

Yep. Factory repairs in '76 on the eve of the Wings Over America tour. The original horseshoe was beyond remagnetizing.
