I use a Mesa/Boogie D-180 amp (at least until I can save up enough to buy either a new Mesa Prodigy or Strategy) through a Sunn 2000S 2x15 cab.

I had been using two amps in stereo-the big classic SVT VR 300 watt and an SVT V4B 100 watt reissue with two Ampeg 610 cabs. At one point, I had three stacks! It has become somewhat 'challenging' to move them around minus the road crew LOL.

I am now using the Ampeg Micro VR heads (2) with the associated 210 cabs (4) both in stereo. I use a custom pedal board and my bass eq gives me some extra db for that punchy sound, although its not tube. It certainly does the job however for me.

The attached photograph shows them when I was recording a "Live In The Studio" track along with my 4001 C64. The engineer couldn't believe the sound I was getting from what he thought were "small toy amps" Boy- was he surprised! LOL

I'm now using the Ampeg Micro VR heads (2) with the associated 210 cabs (4) all in stereo. I use a custom pedal board with various bass specific pedals-a tuner, eg, fuzz, chorus, filter, octave, sustainer, delay and reverb. The amps certainly do the job although they are not tube.

I recently changed out to Markbass Mini CMD 121P combo / Markbass NY 121 cab. Easy to move around, use the combo 12, or with the cab plugged in for the second 12. 300 Watts @ 8 ohms, 500watts @ 4 ohms. I do like the 12's more than the 10's.

I have been playing through vintage Acoustic Control rigs for years. Recently, I bought a new USA Acoustic 360m, so that's what I play through now. Even the upright goes through it when it gets amplified.

I use a Fender Bassman 250 with two 10" speakers. When practicing at home and I don't want to rattle the rafters, I use a Peavey Pacer 100.

Quick update, I've recently purchased an Ashdown CTM300 all valve(tube) head and my word! The rid just sings and purrs and grunts through it! It's utterly perfect for my ric!

Although for the time being it's paired with a Laney RB410 cab, which while not bad, isn't ideal, currently saving my money for a Barefaced 69er! Anyone that hasn't heard of barefaced need to check them out!
