When lowering the bridge pickup, is it typical for the pickup cover itself to move down a lot as well? I was lowering the pickup to better balance the output of the bridge pickup with the neck pickup and found that the bridge pickup cover was lowering to the point of hitting the strings. Just wondering if others have had this experience as well. Thanks!

The cover "floats" with the PU unfortunately. The best thing to do is to take off. Then you can adjust the BPU as you like. But of course you can also use the volpot to adjust the balance between the PUs.

Thanks for the advice. My neck pickup is at its maximal height so I just raised the pole pieces on it and radiused them for the fingerboard and this helped to equalize the volume with the bridge pickup. I like to rest my hand on the pickup cover so prefer to leave it on. Thanks again!

If you swap the position of the springs to below the pickup cover it will stay where it is and just the pickup moves up or down.
