Probable sounds like a gay question, but I,m a full time guitarist/part time bassist, filling in for local bands when needed. I like to keep busy. I,ve got a '75 4001 and 2005 Fender precision and use various Svt or fender amps (whatever's available) because my Ampeg BA-112V2 75 w. practice amp sucks in band situations. Always been a Geddy fan and would like to get more serious and play more bass(high demand in these parts).anyone know how geddy set his 4001 up?.I,ve got re issue V63 p/u's in mine. 15.4k horseshoe &11.9 toaster. 250k pots,w/.047 caps. I have it apart now to rewind the bridge p/u and would really like to emulate his tone from the '70's.Anyone know anything about his old black 4001 ? Thanks in advance

Just install Rickenbacker Hi-Gain pickups.

Geddy also used Rotosound standard gauge strings, and still does.
