I just bought my first Rickenbacker guitar and its a 325v59 (Its a beauty)!!! :)
Since it is out of production there isnt much information available and just out of curiosity I was wondering if anyone could give me the low down of specifications on this guitar.

Congratualtions on your purchase! I've had a 329 V59 since around 1985 & have never gotten tired of it. I love the short scale & narrow neck. What color is yours? Hope you enjoy playing yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.

Thank You all so very much for your help and replies! This v59 is in jetglo black (finished beautifuly), everyone seems to be saying to me "rewire" my guitar whats there to rewire and why rewire? :s

What I have done to my RIC 325V59 is to add a fifth control, that controls the volume of the middle pickup independently, while the other two pickups with the remaining four controls and three-way-switch are wired just like any 2-pickup RIC or Gibson-type guitar. This wiring enables you to use all possible pickup combinations. There are two settings that I use quite often and that would not be possible with the standard wiring: 1st: Both the neck and bridge pickups at full volume with the middle pickup turned halfway up - this is my favourite for crunchy rhythm sounds. 2nd: The middle and bridge pickup combined - this gives you a thin, almost Strat-like tone, which is useful for some clean lead sounds. _________________

And I have rewired the 5th knob with a push pull so ALL knobs retain their stock functions. The pushpull, when down, has the inline capacitor to the bridge pickup and sends only the neck pickup to the up position of the selector switch. The pull position bypasses the inline capacitor to the bridge pickup and sends only the middle pickup to the up position of the selector switch. This give the guitar two completely different sets of tones for greater flexibility, while not changing the stock functions of the knobs.
