I am looking to buy one of the above models? Any advice? Seems like the tailpiece is a big issue?

Thanks, Mario

The C64 has a better tailpiece, you could always buy a C58 and put a B5 on it.

If you can find a 325V59, you may want to consider one of those. I love mine and would never part with it.

But, if you're a Lennon fanatic and must have what he used, then you're better off with the C58 or C64 since it's more like his than the V59. I just like the V59 for what it is, a cool little short-scale guitar with a nice Bigsby.

It also depends on how soon you want the guitar. I think you can get a C58 now, but I'm pretty sure that the C64 is a long ways down the road.

You can go to the models section of the website and get a 325C58/325C64 side by side comparison of each guitar, however nothing is better than actually playing and hearing the guitar. The production of 325C64 guitars is underway but, at this moment I haven't seen any available in USA stores. You can find the 325C58 available, so if you have the chance, give it a test strum. Remember, it's a Rickenbacker and many of us have purchased these instruments sight unseen (by special order)and have been completely satisfied.

I own a 325V59 and love it very, very much. If I would buy a 325 now, I would definetely go for the 325C58MG. Aside from the good looks I prefer the bigger depth of the body (50.8 mm compared to only 38.1 mm on the C64).

Nevertheless I am not sure whether I would like the Kauffman Vibrato. The Kauffman was the first thing John Lennon removed when he got his 325 in Hamburg back in 1960. He replaced it with a Bigsby. For this reason it might be a good advice to look for a used 325V59. I have seen several of these guitars on ebay in recent times.

On the other hand I am told that the C-series is closer to the original guitars of the 1950s than the V-series was. Maybe the C-series-guitars are superior to the V-series. I do not know.

Well, with the 325c64 you totally sidestep the (with a nod to Shakespeare) quandary, "To mod or not to mod, that is the question..." For "right out of the box", it'll look just like John's...

My 325v64 & "matching" 325/12v64 are my two favorite guitars...
