Quote: Barbarossa, Rickenbacker has just dropped the three-pickup models. They stopped offering the 370/6, but the 370/12 will still be available.

I have tried two 360 in my local store, then a 370 (6 strings) model, which impressed me much more: I play psychedelic music (shoegaze), and the central position with 3 pickup on has both punch and clearliness. The neck-mid position is less interesting, as many of you pointed out, but it is very useful when distorted. In general 360 sounds more versatile, in my opinion, but I can get the best compromise for a bright, jangly, rich tone with 3 pickup on.
I would recommend 360 if you play lead jazzy stuff, for sure. Otherwise, give 370 a chance (if you are able to find one!).

I think my 340 is the best Rick I have ever heard, and I preferred it to my 330 and 360, which I stupidly sold! Plus I think they look better.

I have a 1966 370-12 MG since Sept. 1967. The only guitar I have kept all my life.

Yup. It (my MG 370/12) is the first and only Ric in my herd (currently 13 strong with #14 about three weeks away), and the combo 3rd pup/blend knob makes the difference for me. Never had an issue with the middle pup, seems like my style (flatpick, little finger) isn't bothered by it, so I am one happy camper. While I won't get buried with it (what a waste that would be!), it's gonna be around for a long time, yet.
