I wrote and rewrote this reply several times, having changed my mind several times! But in the end, even with the disadvantages, I would like a model-specific format. The trick would be keeping "general" guitar issues in the general Guitar forum. But I suppose that's why we have a "search" function.

One other option would be to group guitars (300 series, 600 series, vintage, etc.). Just a thought.

I do not think that this would make much sense. A lot of people here seem to own more than one Rickenbacker guitar. And there are a lot of things that can be said about a 330 that are also interesting for someone who owns a 620 f.e.

But maybe it would make sense to create seperate threads for 6- and 12-string models.

Just to stir things up: how much faster would the RIC staff produce the goods if they didn't know that the CEO is in HIS office chatting with all us wwwasters? ;-)
Actually, most of them know that I can see them quite well from my window!

More seriously, individual performance is quite carefully documented.
Mr. Hall are you cracking the whip? :0

Since I do most of my posting here at work, it's usually as time permits, and often in between tasks. This is usually why I forget where and what I've posted and often don't get to see a follow up, if any. Segmenting the threads further would get me even more "lost".

I think that our (John, Ben, Kenny, Myself) time spent here durring the work day would qualify as work related internet usage....what's your excuse??!!
I've finished work, doing this here & now while the traffic eases off and because this connection is much faster than mine at home. But...

Any chance of a webcam to show the world what you can see? Or several webcams? Then everyone who has an instrument on order could watch it being built, eventually... and the rest of us could drool even more.

Webcam at the Rickenbacker factory! Excellent suggestion.

My band has one set up in our rehearsal room for webcasting on our band's website...but we never turn it on!

Why would Mr. Hall want a webcam in his factory. If it was there then the world would see the secrets of rickenbacker. Plus, the management could not crack the whip, without the aclu coming into play. (Just Kidding about the whip :) )
