I have a fantastic 2002 fireglo 660/6 and will soon be the proud owner of a 1997 mapleglo 350v63 which will be shipped to me from the USA. I know that they both use the same vintage toaster pups, but can anyone tell me how they compare or differ in the tone and sound department?

My 660/6 is able to pull off any type of clean sound with authority and has enough grunt with an old BOSS OD1 to sound like an overdriven humbucker guitar, I have read some reviews of the 350v63 that sound similar to my experience with the 660, but I thought I better ask you guys!

I imagine that the 350 could sound a little more mellow as it is a thinline semi acoustic, while the 660 is a solid body?

Cheers, Kez

The 350 will have a more hollowed acoustic sound, as It's semi-acoustic. The 660 has a tighter sustain with a solid body sound . . .

Thanks, I suspected as much, is there a propensity for the hollow 350v63 to feedback at higher volume or does lack of sound holes keep it manageable?

Cheers, Kez

Having used a 325 in the same way as you are wanting, I would say that is more than managable!!

Mmmhh, the 350v63 with 3 toasters and different switch wiring does not allow neck pup only or neck and bridge pups on at the same time (instead having neck & middle pups, all 3 pups, bridge pup) it will of course sound different to the 660/6 in any case!

Cheers, Kez
