I've been thinking for a while now about putting some vintage style tuners on a 2004 340. Before I do I wish I could see what it would look like. I'm afraid that the newer headstock is going to be too big for the old style tuners.

Has anyone done this modification? If so, do you have any pics you could share?

The vintage-style tuners won't fit, because the modern-style ones have threaded collars which are much larger diameter. If you try to put the vintage collars on, they'll just slop about in the holes. You CAN buy special collars to make them fit - they're more often used by people 'restoring' vintage Gibsons and Fenders where the head has been drilled out, but they don't look right since they're much larger than the originals. I think you can get them from Allparts or Stewmac, or other parts vendors.
