Rickenbackers and Marshalls. Mmmm, Smithereens.
Get rid of those rickys and get a REAL guitar like a Gibson les paul.

My 360/12V64 is just wonderful through a Marshall PA20, yes I said PA (bought 1973 when I was the bass player in an otherwise-acoustic group) and a homemade cab containing a Celestion 12" (even older). Patch one channel to the other, Tone1=0, Tone2=10, Vol1=Vol2=anything from 2 to 10 depending on room size.

The PA20 is identical to the Lead & Bass 20 except for one capacitor on the first channel of the L&B, which makes it a bit brighter... and some L&B20s don't have it either! The way you set yours up basically makes it a L&B. Great little amps - I've owned a couple of them (one PA, one L&B) but being dim I sold them before they became as expensive as they are now... I still have a '71 4x10" cab though, that was the other half of the L&B setup.

Hi,

Has anyone used the little MircoStack from Marshall? If so, how is that for practice and small venues. Does it work well with a RIC?

What's your opinion of the amp in general?

Best,

MMM

I one used mine in an, ahem, acoustic folk club with my pre-RIC Shergold 12. I'd carried both in the usual jumbo case, just to surprise people. THAT worked! When I went back the following week I was donated a box of 9v batteries. If I were to do that again I'd carry a mains adaptor.

It's a fine little thing as far as it goes. Has the proper Marshall distortion (it's the bigger one, with the variable Gain) and can be used as a pre-amp to turn a clean amp into a near-Marshall (output from the headphone socket). I don't use it with the 360/12V64 only because I don't want the dirty tone.

On its own it didn't work too well for a Fender bass, but I never expected that it would.

I run all my Ricks, (360/6, 360/12WB, and 660/12 ) through my Marshall VS 265 stereo amp and it works great with all of 'em . I haven't tried using a Rick O Sound through it yet but I will soon.

My 330 screams out of my Marshall 100 watt plexi loaded with Vintage Celestions.

Anyone try the Marshall Handwired Series amps yet?
