i have a question here that is asked out of complete ignorance, so I hope I don't offend anyone.
I am soon to be the owner of a Rickenbacker 650 D. I could not be more excited, as I have wanted a Ric since I first saw the Beatles on the Anthology back in 1995.
On my other guitars, I use "Tetrahedron" pure nickel Classics exclusively. I use either 9-42 or 10-48 gauges.
Now...I have just learned last night of the problems associated with "Tetrahedrons" and Rickenbackers. Particularly with regards to heavier gauge flat wound strings and 12 string Rics.
Do you think the problematic relationship goes for all Tetrahedron strings and Rickenbackers? Or, do you think the roundwound strings that I use, in the gauges that I use, would be okay for a 650 D?
I know these are not popular strings with Rickenbacker owners, but while I am used to them, I want ones that won't be damaging for my Rickenbacker as well.

Thomastik-Infeld flatwound sets are the preferred flatwound strings for many players.
