Why didn't they make the 360/12 GH with checker board binding? Wouldn't that make it vintage correct?

No. Please look at the pictures closely. George's first 12-string had binding both front and back, but it was single ply white binding. George's second 12-string had the rounded front.

But I agree - I love checkerboard. That's why when I was presented with the opportunity to purchase a 12-string, I was fortunate to get one with checkerboard front binding.

I think he is talking about the second one with the rounded front. They came out with a re-issue of that model for I think Guitar Center, (360/12 GH), and it did not have the Checkerboard binding on the single bound back.
I'm sure the one George got back in 1966 (or 1967?) had the Check binding. Needless to say, it was not really a true, or accurate copy of his second Ric 12 string! :cry:
