Hello. I'm looking to mod my 2004 360 to achieve a more vintage look and sound. I definitely want to add the accent vibrato and toasters (stuck between scatter wounds and 12k's).

My question is on the 60's 360 models were the pickups spaced further apart? Not the spacing between the pickups and the strings but the actual distance between the two pickups. The 60's model upper pickguard even looks different from a modern one, like the modern models have less space between the two pickups.

Can anyone confirm this and if so can it be modified?

The difference your seeing is the 60's necks had 21 frets rather than the current 24, that's why the pickups were further apart.

Ah hah. Duh! So the difference is that the neck pickup is higher up on the guitar body because the neck is a different length. Makes total sense now thank you. Damn I really enjoy the look of the 21 fret. :|
