On Roger McGuinn's blog he's shown with his LE12 and Dolly Parton. He apparently played and sang "Turn, Turn, Turn" for her new album of covers with the original artists.

Hi Yetto,

Yea, it is a good read.

Also, I guess the last two people I thought I'd see in a photo with a RIC between them would be McG and Dolly. Interesting collaboration. I really want to hear that song.

I like McGuinn's techie finds as well! He has some cool gadgets.

MMM

I hear that!
However having read the blog, it makes sense now. She at least actually can play the guitar and knew what his was.

I guess when you've gone beyond musician status to the entertainer/icon level they both function at, they get to be more in control of what they want to do, and with whom?

Some of these collaboration deals really seem to revive careers (Neil Young/Pearl Jam, and Aerosmith/Puff Daddy, come to mind).

Dolly's been a hipster fave here in Brooklyn for years now and it's pretty common to walk into a cafe or bar in Williamsburg and hear "Jolene". She usually plays Irving Plaza, a venue known more for booking bands like Sonic Youth, Wire, Primal Scream, etc,(though she played Radio City Music Hall last month) and her shows sell out immediately. As far as I know, Roger McGuinn didn't show up (g).
