Blech, never a fan of Tom Petty, although I know he and Mike Campbell are Ric fanatics. Still, could be worse! :-)

My vote for the most effective use of the the dual Rick guitar attack strategy since Lennon and Harrison used it at various times in 64-65, and even they may not have deployed two twelve strings at once.

Sweet! Now add a 6 string with a third player! Heaven! I wonder what Lynyrd Skynyrd would sound like with them all playing Ricks?

Thanks studiotwosession. I'm beginning to really like that website (along with this forum). I'll do ya one better! Check out this Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers/Stevie Nicks video. I remembered it from way back when. Pay close attention to the bass guitar... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWF4ppf8 ... ie%20nicks

Indeed. Another classic from the same era, saw them on the first show of that tour, a great memory. Now, if Tom and Stan could quit arguing long enough to get the original band back together...

An Equation:
(a + b) x c < d
Where: a = Tom Petty b = Mike Campbell c = pick a number d = Roger McGuinn
With a single 12 string guitar, McGuinn runs rings around the combined efforts of Petty and Campbell.
My guess is that this post will eliminate me from any consideration for a spot in the Heartbreaker's line-up.
