Yes is it possible bringing back the original Rickenbacker flatwounds for your 4003fl fretless basses, I was told that the company is putting on round wounds on the fretless basses because they where out of flats.
The original flats where awesome strings, will Rickenbacker ever bring back flat wounds for there fretless basses.
Thank's,
Fish

Mr. Hall the only reason why I was asking is I have a 4003fl Montezuma Brown that was ordered last December and I was just wandering if it was coming w/round wounds or hopefully Rickenbacker would be getting some flatwounds to put on there fretless basses.

RIC used to use Polyhedron flats. You can still get them, but they are quite pricey! Another alternative is LaBella Deep Talking Bass stainless steel flats. I used to use them and they are very much like the stock strings my 1973 4001 had on it when I bought it new. They last forever too. I had one set on for two years.

Rickenbacker has NEVER, EVER used Polyhedron strings! Our flatwounds were produced in Geretried, Germany by Maxima.

And I STILL won't tell you. Those Maximas haven't been made for decades now.
