i have what appears to be a 360/12..the serial number is written in ink in the body cavity, and comes back to a 2007 360/12. it is in a blue finish---is this correct?

The serial number should be stamped into the jack plate. That's the standard practice.

It's not unusual to find the serial number also hand written in the cavity but it's not standard practice.

RIC have used various writing & numbering inside during production. Lately, it seems to be similar to the serial, but is not "officially" the serial number. The "official" serial number is assigned when the jack plate is installed, which is the actual serial number.

For instance, I have a bass with a number that's not the same as the jack plate serial number. I know the guy who has the bass with the number inside my bass as the serial number of his bass. What's inside his bass? A number that's the same as the serial number of my bass...
