What other string set (besides Ric) is most similar to what comes on a stock 330-6? GHS or SIT compressed-wound? |

I would go with the GHS boomers. They seem to work well with Ricks and increase the sound. |

i've been reading previous posts that seem to indicate GHS brite flats are a pretty close approximation to Ric strings. |

...though it seems Ric strings are "compressed" rounds, and the GHS brite flats are "micro-ground." Just wondering how similarly these strings feel / react. |

I use D'Addario "Chromes" flatwounds on all my Ricks, even my basses. They provide the authentic '60s sound, like Beatles, Beach Boys, and Byrds. They are easy on the fingers, make no string noise when sliding, and they last a very long time. They're also half the price of Thomistik-Infeld strings, which is the only better string, in my opinion. If you're going for a brighter sound, or want to use distortion, the Rick strings are just fine. |

GHS Nickel Rockers are very close to the stock RIC strings. |
