I was wondering if there might be any possibility of a new doubleneck anytime soon? Unwieldy they might be, but I can't think of many other instruments that would be as much fun to own.

A 4080 came up for sale near where I live not long ago, and were it not for the fact that I wanted a semi, i might have snapped it up.

What does everyone else think? With the rumours that the 4005 might be making an appearence, how about combining it with a 360/12 - to totally fulfill my future Rickenbacker needs!

Uhhh, say what? Did I miss something? Last I read anywhere, John Hall said a reissue of the 4005 wasn't going to happen for several reasons.

Unfortunately, my guess is that a new doubleneck would be just as unlikely. As is my wish for an electric Mandocello or a baritone guitar from RIC.

I never liked the 4080’s much.

I highly recommend that no one here buys one.

They are way over priced in today’s market, heavy and awkward.

Love 'em but I think the 360/12 with the 4005/6 would be tre-cool!
