sooo... I did it, I ordered a 660/6... about three and half months ago..still waiting. I hear horror stories of year and a half wait times! I hope that is not always the case. Anyone care to venture an advisement on how long wait times are running on new guitars from RIC?

You can buy new Rickenbackers directly from dealers, and if they don't have them in stock, I suggest not buying from them and looking in the used market or online dealers.

My experience was an 8 month wait with Musicians Friend/ Guitar Center. While checking the progress I was told my order had been cancelled because Ric was no longer building 330's, which was bullshit. They offered to find me some other brand they had in stock as a replacement which I didn't want! So I called and spoke to someone at Ric, CA. and they told me Musicians Friend is having financial problems, not paying their bills. The 330 model was alive and well! I re-ordered from Sweetwater and got my guitar in about 4 months. So, I guess it depends who you are dealing with as how long the process is going to take. Good luck.
