Hi all

Anyone shipped/couriered a Ricky recently to/from UK and not needed a CITES certificate?

Rickenbacker tell me the fretboard of my 620 is made of Chechen and DEFRA in the UK tell me that is not on the CITES list. That would make life a lot easier without having to obtain a certificate.

Thanks for any info or experience.

Can't help but maybe someone an help me. Just bought a new 660/12 which is going to my son's in Texas. I hope to bring it back on the plane to the UK in September when the wife and I go out to visit him for two weeks. I plan to put it in the overhead storage. Anyone got any thoughts ?

Some years ago, on the lobbying of professional organizations, including AFM, symphony orchestras, and others, the US passed special regulations regarding the handling of musical instruments. Here is the link to the handbook for travel published by AFM: https://members.afm.org/uploads/file/Fl ... inal_1.pdf

Thanks so much iiipopes for that info.
I will read it thoroughly prior to leaving. Unfortunately the wife has already bought the tickets. Norwegian Airline to Boston and then American from there to Dallas Fort Worth going and found the other way on the way home.
I will make contact before we leave and report on here how I get on.
