Hi I have a rickenbacker from the 70s that someone over 50 years ago put a jewel into the head? Anyone know who or why this was done?

I thought the person who did this would remember,if still alive.if not perhaps someone else might remember.it is pretty big,it is a autumn-glo 381 Rickenbacker
