hey there everyone, I'm fairly new here but have been a Rick owner for a while. I'm now up to 4 ricks including my '73 4000 model bass. my most recent guitar is an immaculate 2004 360/12 in strawberryglo- ... I mean... fireglo.... heh heh.... yeah.... I'm not complaining about the color but it's quite a bit different than my '92 620/12 which is more amber to darker red while the 360 is a really pale pink to red. anyway with all that said, my question is will this finish maybe eventually yellow like lacquer does over time? I know my 350 is finished in nitro lacquer apparently because it's a vintage style guitar. any words of wisdom on this would be much appreciated. thanks everyone. p.s. I tried to include a picture but it would not work.

I had a 360v64 Ric with that pinkish middle, made in 1998. I sold it because of that finish(color). I think that certain years(like 1998), the fireglo color varied and you got the pink middle. I do not think it will change too much with age. I have a 355v63 with a beautiful fireglo with a more orange middle, and I've seen some new 1993Plus fireglo finishes that are really nice. The "Color of the Year-","Amber-FireGlo",was also a very nice(Vintage Style)FireGlo color!

Well, if the bassplayer has Strawberryvanillaicecreamglo and the Gitplayer Pinkchampagneglo, then the match would be pretty cool. Wouldn´t it??

yeah I figured if it was going to change it probably would have done it by now. if I couldn't live with it anymore I'd probably bite the strawberry bullet and spray a nice even coat of tinted amber lacquer over it. that would turn the pale middle more amber color and the red a little darker.... maybe. or maybe then I'd end up with orangecreamsicleglo

I have an ‘07 620 that seemed very pink when I bought it. In certain lighting it still has a pinkish cast, but in most lighting it now looks more amber. I was unsure about it at first, but 10 years later it looks amazing. It has a very dark outer edge and a nice yellow/orange center. I have it in the living room and stare at it often....
