Just as an update, I have received no word since my broken R tailpiece arrived at RIC (March 1st) as to the replacement status on whether it is being processed or a new R has been sent to me as of yet. My latest e-mail to RIC service has not been answered as of yet. Hopefully they will contact me when the new R is sent out with a tracking number soon.

This morning, I received my new R tailpiece from RIC. Tomorrow, I should receive new strings and will be able to put my 366/12 back together again. Thank you RIC!

Bonus! I received my strings today so...I have put them on and the 366/12 is back in service! I have attached a photo of part of the progress. As a side, when I think of Rickenbacker Fireglo, I think of the Fireglo on mine as true fireglo. The translucent shade of red used as well as the maple peeking through on the edges.

How does one go about getting a new chrome R tailpiece for a 360/12?

I would have kept the old original tailpiece and had it welded and rechromed by a metal specialist. The new ones crack a lot faster. Read up on the complaints about this issue for the past 10 years or more.
I have a 1966 370-12 MG and the chrome is all worn out but the metal is still intact. If it ever cracks, I am not going to bother with one of the new ones. No thank you. I know how to get it repaired.

Well, it's been years since I've logged on to this sight and I think this thread is the last one I generated. Any hoo, how 'bout an update with this 'new' tailpiece! After all these years, it's still holding up and going strong. No issues. I might add, that 660 is none the worse for wear as well. Still a great guitar as is my 380L pz and 360 which I converted to toasters in the last couple of years.
Also, I'm glad to see this place is still going good. I hope the 'Covid 19' thing hasn't got you all down and hope things go back to normal soon!
