Lots of multi-Rickenbacker owners here.
Sorry if this is an overused topic:

Let's say you're on the proverbial desert island (that has power and an amp), and have to live with ONE Ric for an extended period.

I'd go for a current model 360/6, and a buncha Ric strings.

Your choice?

That's an easy one: a '70 or '71 21 fret 4001 bass, preferably in Burgundyglo, plus a Rick amp. Simple.

Would have to be my mando... and hey, it's desert gold, so it gets extra points for a desert island instrument, right??!!

A 4003 and an SVT (with BIG batteries) of course, although I think maybe a Ric acoustic would be a little more practical.

That would probably be one of my 4004Cii5 basses. Since there would be no electicity on a deserted island, my pick would probably be one of my 4004Cii5 basses. Even when it's not plugged in, it's pretty loud for a solid body. Even fellow forumite Banta, commented on that when he tried mine.

For me it would have to be a 360/12F. So big I could shelter underneath it, in the mid-day sun, wave at passing ships, the sun glinting off that loooooong R tailpiece and if that didn't work, then use it as a small boat to sail into the sunset!

It would probably be my stripped down '76 4001 that I converted to a model 4000. I keep it on a stand in my living room. It just screams PLAY ME!!! Very nice neck.

Oh for the love of god...This is like choosing one of your kids as a favourite. (If you have kids)

I would probally choose my Fretless 4003 if i MUST choose.

Howdy,

OK, Yettoblaster, I'll play. I'd bring my new MG 360-6 string. Nice guitar indeed!

I'd bring my '67 4005WB as it is definitely the loudest bass unplugged that I have. As the qualifications say there is electricity, then I'd bring my Walter Woods amp and two Traynor YS-15 cabinets.
